Prince Harry's candid admissions during his and Meghan Markle's sit-down with Oprah Winfrey have shocked many around the world. The Duke of Sussex opened up a lot about his relationships with the different members of his family and where they stand today.
Possibly one of the most revealing comments was one that Harry made, almost casually, about his father, who was Prince Charles at the time. When Oprah pressed for why that was, Harry replied.
"Because … I took matters into my own hands," he shared.
That said, Harry has also urged people to understand that the family's circumstances are more complicated than anyone can imagine.
"I think everyone needs to have some compassion for them in that situation. There's been a level of control by fear that has existed for generations."
Harry also spoke to the well-documented strain between himself and his brother, Prince William. Harry admitted the two have taken "space" from each other since everything has happened. Despite the strain in these relationships now, Harry isn't just wishful but determined to mend fences with time and, hopefully, understanding.
