Julie And Savannah Chrisley Reveal How 10-Year-Old Chloe Is ‘Dealing’ With Family Drama

Savannah Chrisley has continued to release episodes of her podcast, Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley, a series she started amidst her family’s legal drama.

Julie Chrisley sat down with her daughter in the latest prerecorded episode to discuss how their youngest family member is coping with the family crisis.

In case you’ve missed it, Julie and husband Todd Chrisley were just sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison.

The crimes are no joke — they were convicted of conspiring to commit bank fraud, conspiring to defraud the United States, and tax fraud.

Chloe Chrisley, 10, is the couple’s youngest daughter, but she is actually the child of Todd’s estranged son, Kyle. She was adopted by Todd and Julie, has lived with them for years, and was a regular on Chrisley Knows Best.

Savannah, 25, explained that because Chloe has been a part of the family for so long, she knows exactly what is going on, despite her age.

"She listens. She listens more than you think," Savannah said, sitting in a small studio across from mom Julie.

"She'll put on her headphones and act like she is listening to something when in reality nothing's on," Savannah explained.

Julie added, “Really she's just listening to the conversation."

The family tends to address the controversies in vague Instagram posts and beautifully general Bible verses.

But Savannah revealed that they certainly do talk about the scandal behind closed doors.

“And so, all of the legal issues that we've had going on, she's heard about, and she's dealing with it in her own way,” she said about Chloe.

"And with the help of therapists," Julie added.

Julie stressed that although Chloe is not her biological daughter, she still considers her to be one of her kids.

"Every child that has been adopted has biological parents," Julie told Savannah. "That doesn't mean that we aren't her parents."

"She is ours. She is our daughter. She is not our granddaughter. She is our daughter, which makes her your sister," she told Savannah.

The podcast host added in agreement that a family is not defined by DNA but by who you care about.

“It's who you choose it to be, and it's who love you like a family should love you," she said.

Savannah got real for a moment in last week’s episode about the reality that she will have to be a parent to 10-year-old Chloe and her younger brother, 16-year-old Grayson.

"I think that's the hard part, I think there's a level of guilt too for myself, knowing that Chloe and Grayson aren't going to have that same feeling, of, 'Are Mom and Dad going to be home tonight?'" she shared.

"And I think that's the hardest part, is me trying to navigate how to teach two children who aren't fully developed yet, that. And how to navigate the circumstances. That's a really difficult thing."

She later added, "I have to be a positive role model for Chloe and Grayson. No matter how hard it gets, I have to show up."
