Stassi Schroeder Admits She Was A ‘Karen’ After Being Fired From ‘Vanderpump Rules’

Even though she was a fan favorite for years due to her razor-sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude toward cheating boyfriends, in June 2020, Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder was fired from the show due to “racist actions” that involved reporting a Black former costar to the police for a crime that she was not involved in.

At the time, Stassi was ignorant of the implications and course of actions that could have come from such a serious accusation, which very well could have completely altered her costar’s life. But after some hard lessons, learning, and self-reflection, she appeared on the Tamron Hall show to discuss what she’d learned.

One of the first things she revealed is that after taking a good long look in the mirror upon her dismissal from the show, Stassi hired herself a racial bias coach to help her become a better person.

“Working with a teacher and learning about Black history and just the obstacles that Black people face every single day, I look back … and I am so embarrassed that I even had those thoughts. I was that 'Karen.' I was a 'Karen,'” Stassi explained.

Tamron couldn’t help but point out to Stassi that even though she grew up in New Orleans and then moved to Los Angeles, both quite diverse and large cities, she still appeared to have a high level of ignorance in relation to race and the importance of diversity.

“Black people are dying because they’ve been oppressed for 400 years. All lives can’t matter until Black lives matter and that’s something that I’ve realized in doing [these] classes,” Stassi explained.
