Owners Ask For Their Dog To Be Put Down But Vet Takes One Look At Pup And Has Another Idea

GeoBeats Animals posted a story about a beautiful dog named Kora. Her story is one that starts off sad, but the ending is just as beautiful as she is. So, if you enjoy an uplifting dog story, keep reading!

Aly, an emergency room vet, explains how Kora arrived at an emergency clinic after she was hit by a truck. The family that had her at the time was going to use her as a farm dog/work dog. She said, “The family didn’t quite know what the extent of the trauma would be, and they knew that not only financially would it be hard for them to keep her, but they needed a pup that could work at their farm.”

The final decision the family made was to euthanize Kora. Even though it was Aly’s day off, she was immediately called in to take a look at Kora before any permanent steps were taken. Once Aly arrived, Kora greeted her with tail wags, even though she had just gone through a traumatic event.

After Kora won Aly over with her sweetness, Aly asked the family to surrender Kora to her. The family gladly accepted, thanking Aly for assisting in the hard decision they had to make.

After Ali did a full examination, Kora ended up having to get extensive surgery. Aly had her transferred to their orthopedic surgeons to save her leg. After a week's stay at the hospital, Kora finally went home with her new family. Kora’s former family informed Aly that Kora was an outside-only dog; she had never stepped inside before.

Aly wasn’t sure what to expect once they arrived home, but Kora immediately settled in with her new family. She got along with all of Aly’s rescue animals, and even snuggles with the cats. Aly informs viewers that Kora has a love for all treats and even smacks her little lips in anticipation.

Kora’s surgery did not slow her down, either. With her leg holding up very well after her hospital stay, she loves going on hikes, jumping from rock to rock, playing in the water, and playing with her new fur family.
