Just because a person is alone doesn't mean they are lonely. It is a great quality to feel fully comfortable with yourself and not need the validation of a romantic partnership. Cheers to all the content single people.
Actress Diane Keaton considers herself one of them. She is happily single at age 77 and does not see her relationship status changing anytime soon, if ever. She does have an adorable dog named Reggie, so she is good to go.
Diane opened up about this in the cover story for the April/May edition of AARP: The Magazine. She has never been married. She adopted her two children — daughter Dexter and son Duke — when she was in her 50s. She thinks it is "highly unlikely" that she will date again, but that’s OK with her.
"I don't date. Highly unlikely. I don't remember anyone calling me, going, 'This is So-and-So, I'd like to take you out.' They don't happen. Of course not," she said.

Diane does have companionship, though; it's just furrier than you would imagine. She has a dog named Reggie, whom she adores. She wasn’t looking for a pup, but her friend intervened.
"A friend of mine gave her to me. I didn't even ask for her. He came to me and said, 'I think you need this dog.' I was like, 'Okay, I guess?' Of course, now I just love her," Diane revealed.
"Dogs are irresistible. They're just idiots. Reggie is a big jerk, and she's hilarious," she gushed. She can’t imagine her life without Reggie.
Diane revealed to Extra in January that she has not been on a date in 15 years. “They probably just thought, 'Enough's enough … she's too weird.' I'm kind of odd, but I'm doing fine,” she joked.
Diane has dated in the past. She was in relationships with famous men such as Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino. Marriage just never happened, which is OK by her.
"I'm 73 and I think I'm the only one in my generation and maybe before who has been a single woman all her life. I don't think it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I'm really glad I didn't, and I'm sure they're happy about it too,” she mused to People magazine in 2019.
