Reading all our favorite romance novels by our favorite authors can leave us daydreaming — wanting to be swept up by a gorgeous man who owns his own bakery, is secretly rich, and loves nothing more than to shower us with love. Reality then comes crashing down on us when we finish the last page and close the book, but sometimes the world works in mysterious ways.
The Today show shared a video about a couple who met entirely by accident. In 2009, Brenda Rivera from Georgia sent a text message of a Bible verse intended for her friend, but she accidentally sent it to a stranger in Ohio, Isaiah Stearns. Isaiah replied, “Amen to that! Who is this?”
"Oh, it's Brenda," she replied. Little did Brenda know, she was speaking to her future husband.
Usually, when you get a text from a stranger, you just delete it and move on, but Isaiah felt different about this text. He told Today host Jenna Bush Hager, “I viewed it as this is another person who can help me in my walk with God. It’s always good to have good friends, so I was very encouraged by that.”
The next day, Isaiah tried to call Brenda, but she let it go to voicemail. Good thing he actually left a voicemail, because hearing his “cute” voice pushed Brenda into giving him a call back. Fate was in the works here, for sure, because Isaiah had gotten a new phone plan and a new phone number just 30 minutes before he received the accidental text from Brenda.
The couple started to talk every day, and feelings started to develop. Of course, Brenda was a bit hesitant about her feelings because she had never met Isaiah in person. Brenda’s mom quickly stepped in to help. Mom lived in Ohio as well, so she went on a trial lunch date to meet Isaiah and check him out for her daughter.

After mom and Isaiah's get-together, Brenda asked her mother how she would she rate Isaiah on a scale of 1 to 10. Her mom rated him a whopping 11, and she also told Brenda that she was going to marry this man.
