It is never easy to lose someone important to you. It is even harder to understand when the person lost is so young. Olivia Plath is learning this firsthand.
Olivia is best known for her appearance on the TLC reality series Welcome to Plathville. She is married to one of the older Plath children, Ethan. She shared on Instagram about her 15-year-old brother Micah’s death. She also revealed that she will be taking the needed space and time to mourn.
"Don't worry if you don't see me around — I'm taking some space now," Olivia wrote. "I lost a younger brother last night to an unexpected accident and I need some clarity and space for grieving."
Micah Meggs died on Thursday, May 4, 2023, according to The Roanoke Times. At around 10 p.m. he was riding an electric bike heading in the same direction as traffic when he was struck by a Honda Accord. Officials and emergency responders declared him deceased at the scene of the accident. The crash is still under investigation, and the driver of the Accord was not injured.

"Micah brought tremendous light, laughter and love into every life he touched and his presence will be greatly missed," his family wrote in his obituary. "Micah suffered his entire life from Cerebral Palsy caused by a Brachial Plexus injury during his birth which made it difficult for him to do the things he enjoyed so much. Despite the physical difficulties he experienced, Micah never complained or let himself be limited by his disability and continually found ways to pursue his outdoor activities despite this struggle."
Micah will be greatly missed by his family, including parents and nine siblings, Olivia among them.
