Teacher Adopts Newborn, 14 Years Later Does DNA Test And Finds Baby Is Biologically His

DNA at-home test kits have become such a norm in today’s society that it somehow still feels incredible when something out of the ordinary ends up coming out of them.

This video story posted by Wonderbot shares the tale of how a 39-year-old single dad did a DNA experiment on himself and his adopted son and discovered a hidden family secret that would change everything.

To celebrate his birthday, Patrick decided to do something completely different and ordered a DNA test kit to perform on himself and his adopted son, Evan. Naturally, Evan was curious as to why his dad wanted to swab the inside of his cheek.

“We’re all 99.9% alike and you may never know who could be related to you,” Patrick explained.

When the results made their way into Patrick’s inbox, he logged in and discovered something completely unexpected. The DNA results showed that Evan was a 99.9% percent match to him, indicating that he was Evan’s birth father.

Utterly perplexed, Patrick contacted the adoption agency and asked if they had any information about Evan’s birth mother. Unfortunately, they told him that Evan was simply dropped off on their doorstep as a little baby.

All of a sudden, his ex-wife Andrea popped into his mind. The pair had separated approximately 14 years before after a rough patch that resulted in Andrea walking out of Patrick’s life without looking back.

He remembered that shortly before they parted ways, Andrea had been sick a few times but chalked it up to nothing but a short-term flu bug. Patrick was able to find out where Andrea worked and went in to visit her.
