Martha Tucker, a 94-year-old grandmother from Alabama, was watching Coming to America with her granddaughter Angela. The 1988 comedy starring Eddie Murphy is one of her favorite movies of all time.
During the film's big wedding scene, Martha looked over at Angela and made a comment that would soon spark an amazing viral video.
Martha told her granddaughter that she'd always wanted to try on a wedding dress but never got the chance — and for a truly heartbreaking reason.
When Martha got married back in 1952, she says Black women were not allowed inside bridal shops. That's one reason she has dedicated five decades of her life to working as a poll worker — doing everything she can to push forward Black voting rights.
She is also the beloved matriarch of the family, which is why Angela jumped at the chance to make her wedding dress dreams come true … 70 years later.
