Man Robs Woman At Gunpoint Outside Her House Then Asks Her On A Date Via Facebook

It was after a long day at work when Amber Beraun was approached by a man who allegedly took out a gun and told her to let him in her house.

"I did not do that," she told WRTV.

She did, however, give him all the cash she had on her (about $100) and connected with him on Facebook after he asked.

"I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave and he did," she told the outlet.

The man was later identified as Damien Boyce.

Boyce allegedly asked if she had a boyfriend, then sent her messages on Facebook right after the robbery.

Boyce reportedly messaged her on Facebook, saying, "Look just know imma pay you back its a [expletive] up way to meet but [expletive] you wass to pretty to rob."

Beraun messaged back with: "I believe you man. I can tell you're sweet, times just get rough I know that"

The conversation didn't end there. He continued to message her and reportedly invited her to "come chill."

The interaction has left Beraun feeling unsafe.

Beraun told WRTV that it has impacted how she feels in her own community and home.

“He really tried to rob me of my own things, but he took away my sense of safety from my own home,” she said.

“It makes me a little on edge knowing that people walk up and down the street, looking for places to commit crimes,” Beraun said, adding that hearing noises at night feels different to her now.

Beraun also noted that young women often have the fear and suspicion that something could happen, but still, "never think it will happen to you."

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Boyce was arrested for a different robbery on June 12.
