Katie Kelzenberg, a high school senior at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma in 2018, knew it was a long shot. But since prom only comes around once in a lifetime, why not not shoot for the stars?
So, Katie took a chance: she asked her idol Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, to the prom. She posted her video "promposal" to Twitter knowing there was a strong chance she wouldn't get a response. After all, Dwayne Johnson is the #1 movie star in the world.
Days passed, and sure enough, no word from The Rock. No surprise there!
That following Friday, Katie took her seat amongst the class for morning announcements. It was just another day… or so the students thought.
During the standard announcements, a man's voice suddenly came over the loudspeaker.

Katie was in for the surprise of her life.
