Syrian Student Raised By Father With Down Syndrome Has A Message For The World

If you’re one of the lucky ones, one day you’ll realize that the special bond you have with your parents is incomparable because they are the ones who brought you into this world and helped mold you into the person you are today.

This video story posted by Wonderbot on YouTube shares a special message for the world from a man who was raised by a father with Down syndrome.

Sader Issa was born in Syria and grew up in a household filled with love, but it wasn’t until later in life that he realized that his home wasn’t quite like everyone else’s.

Sader’s father, Jad, worked at a mill in their local area and was happily married to Sader’s mother. Jad lives a fairly normal existence, only he was born with Down syndrome, which is also known as trisomy 21. This genetic disorder is caused by a third copy of the person’s 21st chromosome.

There are varied symptoms involved with this genetic disorder, which can cause fertility issues for some females, but Jad and his wife wanted a family and for their son to grow up and experience a normal childhood.

As Sader grew older, he came to realize that his father was different but in the best way possible. “For my father, it was easy. A child who grows up in the lap of a person with Down syndrome will have all the love and tenderness that anyone can offer,” Sader explains.

Sader feels that this type of familial situation can often help a child overcome obstacles with an emotional intelligence that will help them achieve their life goals.
