It's been over three years since singer, Kenny Rogers died. Now his widow, Wanda Rogers, is speaking out for the first time since. The 56-year-old recently shared what life has been like since the death of her husband. In an interview with People, she gets candid about missing the country music star.
"You would think Kenny was the most average guy," Wanda shared. "He was never pretentious, and he sort of taught [the boys] that. He never needed any special attention."
The actress continued, "I miss his love, his support. I miss his touch. I miss everything about him. I wish we could have that one last conversation just to say, 'Are you good? Are you OK?'"

Wanda also got candid about how the last three years have been for her, processing the grief. But the one thing she's big on doing is keeping his legacy alive.
She recently announced the arrival of a curated album of songs from Kenny's archives. Those songs were recorded between 2008 and 2011. The album is called Life Is Like a Song.

"I want to make sure his legacy grows and stays alive," Wanda shared. "I think Kenny would be beyond happy and proud of the album. Kenny's whole thing was he always wanted to say in a song what every man wanted to say and every woman wanted to hear. I think this would fall right into that category."
Kenny died in March 2020 from natural causes. He died peacefully at home. Wanda shared that they were watching movies and eating vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, a favorite of Kenny's, on the day he passed away. She believes that losing him in their home is a source of comfort for her, and revealed that she re-reads journal entries she made that day in an effort to preserve the details of their last time together.
"With him passing away at home, you don't know how it affects kids. And Justin said the next morning, 'Mom, one thing about dad passing away at home…' And I thought, 'Uh-oh.' And he said, 'His sweet spirit will be here forever.' And I was like, 'High five to that. Yes, absolutely it will.'"
