Bridget Marquardt Details Her First Time With Hugh Hefner: ‘What Do I Have To Lose?’

The reality show The Girls Next Door premiered over 20 years ago. The show was about the day-to-day life of Hugh Hefner and his three girlfriends at the time, Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, and Bridget Marquardt. In the years that have followed, Holly and Kendra have spoken at length about what life in the Playboy Mansion was really like, but Bridget has been a little quieter.

Well, until after the show. Bridget eventually opened up in an interview on Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald about her experiences with Hugh Hefner in August 2022, including what her first time having sex with Hugh was really like.

Bridget starts off by noting that when she first began showing up at the mansion, Hugh was nearly immediately interested in dating her, but she said no. She explained, "I was like, oh no, I've heard stories about what went on. I just really want to be a Playmate."

She continued, "He was very gracious and nice about it, everything was fine."

However, Bridget changed her mind over time, especially when her other professional pursuits didn't pan out the way she hoped.

Eventually, she decided to have sex with Hugh to advance her standing at the mansion. She explained, "I was thinking I could get out of this a little while. The first night I was like, 'I'm not ready yet, I'm not going to do anything I don't want to do.'"

She added, "It's not like I never would have done that with him, but I wasn't ready in the moment."

Bridget also adds that other women at the mansion told her that if she didn't have sex with Hugh, he would stop inviting her to the parties completely, which could have a negative impact on whether or not she was featured in the magazine.

She said, "I was still just gonna watch and then [one of the women] was like, 'Aren't you gonna go?' It's like, 'You need to go.' And I was like, 'I would rather not.' And she's like, 'Well, then you probably won't be invited back.'"

She continued, "So then I was like, 'Okay.' And I'd seen what everybody else was doing, so I knew that this was like a 10-second thing. I mean, definitely no more than a minute."

When Bridget was ready, she made a plan to be the first woman Hugh approached that night. She said, "If there's new girls coming up, which there often were, like, I just wanted to be first and be done. And I felt like that was the cleanest way to be in and out of it."

Bridget goes on to clarify that she feels her experiences in the home were "98% positive." She also believes that one reason she doesn't appear in the recent Secrets of Playboy documentary series is her positive feelings about her time in the home.
