Teen Girl Hailed As A Hero After She Jumps Into Action And Saves 4-Year-Old From Shooter

A 14-year-old girl is being recognized as a hero after jumping into action and protecting her 4-year-old sister from a stranger with a gun. Leigha Kissinger and her little sister were home alone when the teen caught a glimpse on the security cameras of an elderly man walking up to their door, dragging a shotgun behind him.

In the footage captured from inside the home, Leigha can be seen running into the kitchen and scooping her sister up from the table and taking her to go hide in another room.

"He was banging on my door," the teen said of the man. "I started panicking." The man initially started to leave, but then turned around and opened the front door.

"I was scared," Leigha said. "I just thought to myself that I need to pick up my sister, and protect her at any cost." Their dog, a golden retriever, stood on the couch by the door and barked at the man, which likely scared him away.
