Piers Morgan, who is no stranger to sowing controversy and discord, once decided to jump into the conversation surrounding Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and August Alsina.
In 2020, Jada and Will appeared on her show, Red Table Talk, to discuss the relationship that Jada and August shared while she and Will were separated. As one could expect, opinions and thoughts about this relationship have been mixed. Many believe that it's questionable that Jada entered into a relationship with someone 20 years younger, especially as he was recovering from emotional trauma.
Others have also pointed out that Will seems solely focused on playing the victim in the scenario when it's likely he also had a relationship (or even multiple relationships) during the same time period.

However, Piers is inserting himself into an entirely different part of the conversation. He says that back when he interviewed Jada about her marriage and sex life, Will found a way to sneak into the studio and listen without anyone knowing.
This story first appeared on LittleThings in July 2020.
The interview was filmed for a 2011 episode of Piers Morgan Tonight. A user on Twitter tweeted a link to the interview, which Piers retweeted. He added some commentary as well: "This was particularly interesting because Will Smith secretly crept into the studio and was watching this… as an audience of one."
The interview was pretty personal, with Piers asking Jada about different things she has said about her sex life with Will. He noted that Jada had commented that the two have a "fantastic sex life" after 14 years of marriage, to which she replied, "You have to," while laughing.
Piers then pushed the topic further. "What I read was that wherever you go, the pair of you, you try and make love. Is this true?" Jada was game, explaining, "I mean, we've made love in some interesting places. The thing is you have to keep spontaneity — you have to keep your partner on their toes 'cause once it starts getting into a routine, it's like — it gets very boring."
Piers then pivoted and asked if the couple ever fought, noting that they seem like "the perfect couple." Jada said that they took the option off the table from the beginning. "We're both very passionate people, so we knew we wouldn't survive screaming at each other. But yeah, we have our arguments and disagreements and we have debates and we have our problems."
She was also really honest about the realities of her marriage: "I mean, it's not perfect. It's not an easy marriage."
On Friday, July 10, Jada and Will chose to appear together and confront the increasing rumors surrounding her "entanglement" with August Alsina.
Jada shared, "It was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain, I was broken and in the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can't find happiness outside of yourself. And luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner."
Will and Jada also clarified that they were separated at the time of the relationship with August, and that they weren't even sure if they would speak again. The pair decided to stick it out, noting that they have been together for 25 years. "We ride together, we die together, Bad Marriage for life."
Jada and Will also said that they never really planned to publicly discuss her relationship with August, since it happened years ago and it's completely over now. But since August put the relationship out into the world, they felt that they needed to share more details of the story.
Jada said, "That is something that I would usually would never comment on at all. It's a situation that I would consider private — it's nobody's business."
Will also explained that the couple were really and truly finished with their own relationship at the time: "We'd decided that we were going to separate for a period of time, and you had to go figure out what made you happy, and I tried to figure out how to make myself happy."
The two did eventually go to therapy together, which ultimately helped but was very difficult. "What happens in a marriage once you do counseling, the truth comes out. And you sit across from your wife and you've said all of your truth and she has said all of her truth. You look at each other and you can't imagine you could ever possibly love each other again now the truth is out."
Will also said, "It creates a dark moment. But for me, it's the dark before the dawn. When the truth comes out and people have to say who they are and what they think, you get to know who they are. I think that's the cleansing before you get to the other side that is understanding and moving forward in our relationship."
