Getting your first Brazilian wax can be nerve-racking for a number of reasons. No matter how many people tell you what you're getting yourself into, you really don't know what to expect. You're worried you'll be uncomfortable with getting waxed, worried it will hurt, and just plain dreading it a little bit.
Now imagine conquering all of that, just for your waxer to tell you that you might be pregnant.

That was the experience of a woman on TikTok who shared her story. TikToker crimpytoses revealed that during her first Brazilian wax when she was 17 years old, she was nervous. When the pain was more than she expected, she was part confused, part embarrassed. That's when her waxer suggested to her that she might be pregnant.
The TikToker shared her experience as a funny story time, never thinking it would blow up the way it has.
"I was 17, I was super awkward and I was wearing a short skirt so I was like, 'can I keep my skirt on and just pull it up and I'll take my underwear off?'" she recalled.
She had gotten other areas waxed before, so she knew what kind of pain or discomfort to anticipate, but found that waxing this sensitive area was more than she expected. She kept telling the beautician the wax was too hot.
The beautician was confused by her discomfort because she was cooling the wax before applying it. She even put some on the inside of her elbow to demonstrate. Then she asked her client an important question:
"Finally, she looks at me and she's like, 'You're not pregnant, are you?'"
The teen was a little appalled and initially objected. Then she started thinking about it and realized it had been a while since her last period.
"I had it confirmed," she said. "But the first person to even suspect it was the lady doing the Brazilian wax!"
A few people who had similar experiences chimed in in the comments.
"My friend found out from her sugaring lady she was pregnant because her color changed down there and she was a regular," one person shared.
"I've been getting waxed for years but immediately stopped when I fell pregnant," another noted. "It was sooo painful!"
