Four-Month-Old Baby Survives After Being Sucked Up Into A Tornado In Tennessee

A 4-month-old baby who was sucked up in a tornado in Clarksville, Tennessee, was found alive. The baby's mom, Sydney Moore, explained that a tornado tore the roof off the family's mobile home before picking up the bassinet that one of her babies was sleeping in, according to WSMV-TV.

The baby's dad tried to grab the bassinet, but he also got picked up by the tornado, the outlet reported. “He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown,” she said.

Moore said when she heard the sound of the wind, she felt that she had to do something to protect her 1-year-old son, so she jumped over him. “Literally the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed," she told WSMV-TV, adding that she was able to push herself and her 1-year-old out after they were crushed under their trailer.

After searching for their 4-month-old for about 10 minutes, they found him in a fallen tree. “I thought he was dead,” the mom said. “I was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”

Though the whole family survived the tornado, their belongings did not. The family lost their home and their car, so the mom's sister started a GoFundMe.

On the GoFundMe page, the woman's sister, Caitlyn, said some members of the family had injuries from the tornado and one of their cats is also missing.

"This disaster has affected more than just this family, so I would like to extend my thoughts and prayers to everyone affected," she wrote.
