Bride’s Dad Was Killed In Line Of Duty So She Dances With Mom At Her Wedding

When Kourtney Krietemeier was a little girl, her beloved father gave her a small replica of his badge with his number on it for Christmas.

As he gave Kourtney the priceless token, he played the song "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon. It became their special song.

In 2005, Kourtney's world came crashing down when her doting dad, detective Donnie Young, died in the line of duty.

Fourteen years ago, Donnie was shot and killed in an unprovoked attack on Mother's Day. He had served with the Denver Police Department for 12 years.

Kourtney has had a difficult time enjoying her big milestones without her father there to see them.

When she got engaged, her aunt suggested having some of Donnie's former colleagues walk her down the aisle. And Kourtney was so grateful when her mother decided to step in for the father-daughter dance.
