Santa Asks 3-Year-Old Girl If She Wants To Sit On His Lap & She Absolutely Does Not

One Santa Claus is not only bringing joy to this holiday season, but an insightful lesson in consent as well! In a video that has gone viral, Katie Love, a mom from Florida, took her 3-year-old daughter Adley to visit the Santa Claus at the Ritz-Carlton holiday party in Miami.

When it came time for the little girl to sit on Santa's lap, the cheery man taught a lesson that was valuable enough for the mother to catch on camera and share to her own TikTok account. Katie recorded the reaction when her daughter said she didn't want to sit on Santa's lap.

"This response was Thank you Santa for respecting my daughter's choice & even applauding her for it! ," the caption read. She added the hashtags #toddlersoftiktok #santaclaus #christmastiktok #toddlersbelike #adviceforgirls #importantmessage #toddlermom #toddlertok #wholesomemoments #femaleempowerment #girlpower #bodyautonomy.

In the video, Santa is explaining the interaction to the camera. "I said this is her body and she's in control of her body," he said. "I asked if she wanted to sit on my lap and she said no, and I said, 'Way to stand up for yourself and way to say what you believe is true.' You can't let even Santa Claus, if Santa Claus says you want to sit on my lap, if you don't want to, you say no!"
