Australian Man Refuses To Let Girlfriend Leave The House In Short Skirt And People Love It

An Australian man has garnered a lot of attention for telling his girlfriend that her skirt is too short, with some praising him and others saying that it's a major red flag. The TikToker, @chriskeverian, shared a video that shows his girlfriend grabbing her bag and getting ready to go out with her friends. But he stops her because he doesn't like what she's wearing.

“Where the f— is the other half of that skirt?” he asked her. He asked where she was going, and she told him that she was going out.

"You're not f—ing going anywhere," he told her. She insisted that she was going out and said "Bye." Then he told her that if she walked out in that outfit, their relationship would be over.

"Don't f—ing leave; come back here," he told her. But she wanted to know what the problem was, asking him what was wrong with her outfit.

He started telling her that she had to pull her skirt down to make it cover more of her legs, but she told him that it was already all the way down. He told her that she wasn't going out then.

He continued to say, "You're not going." For some people, the video was completely appalling. Others seemed to suggest that the type of relationship depicted looked ideal to them.

"If he's like that then i'm breaking up," one person commented on TikTok. Several others agreed, saying they would leave him and calling him "insecure." One person said the man "gave me the ick the entire time."

For others, the controlling behavior was more than an "ick" — it was a major red flag.

"Please leave him, this is not normal," one person warned.

"Why do people want this type of relationship?" another TikTok user wondered.

But some people defended the man and said they wanted that kind of relationship.

"If he ain't like this i don't want him," one person wrote.

"He's only saying it bc he knows other men r gonna look at her," another person defending the man wrote. "It's valid."

Another person called the man's reaction to the skirt "completely valid," and some went as far to say that a woman should dress in a way that her partner likes out of respect.

"If my man were uncomfortable w what I were wearing id change," one person commented.

"For those saying they'd break up with him.. yall clearly the problem," one person wrote. "It's not control it's called RESPECT for yourself and your partner!"

Another TikTok user had a wild idea: Maybe just trust your partner?

"You're an insecure man…," the TikTok user wrote. "You should be telling her how good she looks and trust her."

After all, maybe the outfit that the man was so upset about is nothing more than a cute outfit.

Though some men in the comments praised the man for what he said, some women also made an appearance to ask the important questions: "Can you ask her where the skirt is from?" and "Can you ask her where her top is from?"

Other TikTokers commented on the man's video with the sole purpose of praising his girlfriend and her sense of style.

"Skirt looks amazing," one person commented.

"I think she looks lovely," another person wrote.

Though some thought the video was lighthearted or reasonable, others were genuinely concerned. To some, the outfit was cute — but the boyfriend's behavior was not, prompting one person to warn the women who said they want a partner like this man: "When a man tells a girl how to dress or gives an ultimatum, [it's] not worth it.."
