The son of Monica Aldama, the cheerleading coach on the Netflix documentary series Cheer, has been arrested and indicted on child pornography charges. William Austin Aldama was arrested in Navarro County, Texas. According to court documents, the 27-year-old was indicted on multiple charges of either having or knowingly accessing videos that depict child sexual abuse. He was charged with 10 counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography, a third-degree felony in the state of Texas.
A grand jury accused Aldama of knowingly possessing, or accessing with the intent to view, visual material that contained images of underage children engaging in sexual activity. Ten different video files were referenced, being the reason why he has 10 different charges against him.
According to the court document, the material is extremely graphic and disturbing. Some of the materials include children as young as 2 years old being sexually abused. Though his bond was set at $20,000 for each count, Aldama was discharged on personal recognizance bond.
