Three Cliffside California Mansions Worth Millions Are In Immediate Danger After Landslide

Several homes in Dana Point, California, look like they might fall into the ocean, but for now, inspectors say the cliffside homes are not in immediate danger.

Three cliffside homes — which are worth up to $15.9 million according to the New York Post — appear to be extremely close to the edge of the cliff after a landslide. However, the city said the homes have been inspected, according to ABC7. One of the homeowners told CBS that their home is "fine" and "will not be red-tagged." The outlet reported that none of the homes were red-tagged.

ABC7 shared footage of the homes that looked alarming to some because they appear as though they were about to fall into the ocean. While some homeowners have spoken up and said that their homes are fine, others have expressed concern about living there.

One Dana Point resident, Jan Cocchiara, spoke to ABC7 about the mansions. "I would be concerned if I lived in one of those homes," Jan said. "I don't know if it's because of all the development that the hill's been compromised."

Dana Point City Manager Mike Killebrew also addressed the concerns when speaking to the Orange County Register.

“There are no structures jeopardized at this point, and it looks like no impact on the lateral beach access,” Killebrew told the outlet.
