Jane Fonda is keeping it real with Jennifer Lopez. In the singer's upcoming documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the veteran actress opened up about having some concerns about her friend's relationship with Ben Affleck.
The project covers the couple's relationship history and the rekindling of their love after over two decades. They got married in 2023 after having called off their first engagement in 2003. "I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work,” Jane shares with Jennifer.
“However, this is my concern," she continued. "Like, it feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it. You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging.” Jennifer replied, “That’s just us living our life.”
Jane also expressed concern over the pictures from the 2023 Grammys where Ben appeared to look grumpy as he sat next to his wife. “I got real scared, you know, with all that [expletive] about the Grammys and he looks unhappy and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, what’s happening?’” she said.

Jennifer responded that her husband has gotten used to being "the symbol of the beleaguered man." In a conversation with Benny Medina, the Shotgun Wedding actress' manager, Jane added, “I believe that everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love. And the idea of how you present that is so sacrosanct, so important. It should be handled in a way that you aren’t overly flaunting it, so much so that it creates any form of criticism or resentment.”
