Every person working in marketing knows that it is good to have a gimmick. This helps make you stand out from the crowd. Turns out this same principle applies to selling Girl Scout cookies. Mom Chrissy Teigen and daughter Luna, 7, know all about this.
This mother-daughter team decided to enlist the help of one of their four-legged friends, their dog Petey. Petey even got a cool outfit out of the deal. He hopefully also got a lot of pets as well.
This all went down on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Chrissy took to her Instagram stories to share all the adorableness. "Hi Petey! Are you helping us sell cookies?" Chrissy asked the canine.
Luna had a brilliant idea. "If you buy cookies, you get to pet Petey," she chimed in. Everyone loves a free gift with purchase and a "a free pet of the dog" sounds amazing.

Chrissy got confused by this. She thought Luna was giving away Petey. "A free pet?" she asked.
Luna straightened mom out. "Oh, you get to pet him. OK, I thought you meant you were giving Petey away," Chrissy stated. Luna replied, “No!”
At the beginning of February, Chrissy posted a video to her Instagram grid of Luna announcing it was Girl Scout cookie season. Luna is a Brownie and is doing her part to support her troop.
“My own daughter is now in the cookie selling game! if you’d like to support the awesomeness that is @girlscouts, please screenshot this and you can click for her link in your photos! please note this is for shipping only, as we cannot trek across America at this time lol,” Chrissy captioned her post.
Some people were critical of Chrissy in the comments, but others defended her saying she is just doing what any mom would do to support her kids.
Chrissy, husband John Legend, and their four kids, Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren all love dogs. Petey became a member of the family in 2020. Ellen DeGeneres posted about eight rescue puppies who needed homes. Petey was one of them, and when John and Chrissy met him they fell in love.
Petey is named after the parakeet in the movie Dumb and Dumber. There are three other dogs in the household: Pearl, Pebbles, and Penny. Do you notice a theme here?
