Many had questions (and concerns) when a photo of a groom wearing Apple's Vision Pro headset at his own wedding began circulating on social media. In the photo, Jacob Wright, who is a software engineer, looks like he's enjoying himself, but his wife, Cambree, looks much less amused.
While Jacob is interested in new technology and bought the $3,500 Vision Pro headset right after it came out, Cambree sees it differently. “I try not to look because it’s a little creepy, it’s a little uncanny,” Cambree said of the Vision Pro headset when speaking to SFGATE.
“When he’s in the Apple Vision Pro, I let him do his thing," she explained. Cambree explained that her now-husband asked to take wedding pictures with the Apple Vision Pro "two or three times."
"I was like, ‘No, no, no, we have to wait, we have to wait.’ And then I turn around one minute and he has it on," Cambree told SFGATE.
Jacob, 24, told news website Futurism that he went to get his Vision Pro headset out of his backpack in the middle of a post-ceremony photo shoot.

"My wife was like, 'We're not taking photos in the Vision Pro.' But I told her it was just for the meme," he told Futurism.
Though Cambree admitted that she was not interested in taking pictures with the Vision Pro, the "meme" that's been shared online makes her look more upset than she actually was.
She acknowledged that she looks really mad in the photos, but she wasn't actually upset. "I just thought it was funny," she told Futurism.
Some social media users were not convinced. One person on X called wearing a Vision Pro headset at a wedding "straight up disrespectful."
Another person on the platform said it was "extremely sad."
Thankfully, Jacob said he did not actually wear the headset during the wedding ceremony.
"I did not wear it in ceremony out of respect to God and to my wife," Jacob told Futurism.
Jacob admitted that the technology "does isolate you quite a bit," as per Futurism, but it also provided him with a different way to capture memories from his wedding day.
He used the Vision Pro at his wedding reception to record videos, and he believes it will "be super awesome to show [their] kids in 20 years," as per Futurism.
