Reba McEntire Speaks Out About Claims She Called Taylor Swift An ‘Entitled Little Brat’

Reba McEntire performed the national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024. It is not an easy song to sing on a national stage. Taylor Swift attended the big game to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. One Facebook news outlet is claiming that the Queen of Country had an issue with how Taylor behaved during her performance.

The America Loves Liberty page on Facebook alleged that Reba called Taylor an “entitled little brat.” It is hard to take it seriously because it also spells Reba’s last name incorrectly. Reba took to Instagram on March 16, 2024, to clear the air. She never said anything bad about Taylor and respects her both as a person and an artist.

The report claims that Reba stated Taylor was “laughing and drinking” during the national anthem which made “a mockery of the event.” The report goes on to say that Reba wasn’t going to take this kind of behavior. “I let [Taylor] have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat,” the report claims Reba stated.

Reba disputes this report entirely. “Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” she captioned a screenshot of the false narrative.

Reba’s fans had her back in the comment section. One Instagram user pointed out: “Anyone who: 1 – watched the game. Knows this isn’t true because they showed [Taylor] during the performance and she was standing and respectfully holding her hand over her heart. 2. Reba wouldn’t be that unnecessarily confrontational and rude.”

Reba has had nothing but good things to say about Taylor in the past. Reba gushed about Taylor to NBC News’ TikTok in December 2023. She stated she knew from the beginning that Taylor was going to be a big star. “[Taylor] walked down the steps looking right at Tim McGraw singing, and I’m like, ‘This girl’s gonna be a huge star,’” Reba recalled. “Number one: to walk, sing, walk downstairs at your icon that you’re really wanting to sing to and impress without a flaw. I mean, I was impressed.”
