As a kid, I used to ask her for a sip of hers, and she would gently say not till you’re older," he continued. "Little did she know I would one day start my own tequila brand and have way too many margaritas at my finger tips."
"My aunt, @joelyrichardsonsinsta who always brightens my day, said to me this week that we sometimes forget that we’re on an ever spinning planet. Change is inevitable, and we must embrace it with open arms. If you’re a believer or not in quantum physics, the past, future and present coexist," he concluded. "We’re all interconnected here and over there through love. The greatest life force. choose it above all else."
More from LittleThings: Natasha Richardson's Son Micheál Reflects On His Mom's Death 11 Years Ago And How He Honors Her
Natasha died on March 18, 2009, at age 45. She was in a skiing accident at Quebec's Mont Tremblant. She died of blunt force trauma caused by falling. She left behind her husband, Liam Neeson, and their two sons, Michéal and Daniel. They were 13 and 12 at the time.
Natasha was popular for starring in films such as The Parent Trap and Maid in Manhattan. She was also well known for her theater work, earning a Tony Award as best actress in a musical for her performance in Cabaret in 1998.
The aftermath of her death hit her family hard. In a 2021 interview with The Times, Micheál talked about how it affected him by sending him into a "bit of a head spin."
“So you just latch on to the tiny little memories, whether it’s her laugh or her energy in the room or her her cooking,” he said. “I do have her films to go back and watch her in, which I’m incredibly greatly for.”
In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Liam spoke about not knowing how he stayed afloat after his wife's death. "Life goes on," he said. "Natasha's mother, Vanessa [Redgrave], and her sister [Joely Richardson] kind of moved in, and I had a wonderful assistant, Joanna. People just came to help, you know? In a big way. And I'll never, ever forget that."
People in the comments shared their support.
"Beautiful tribute," one person said. "Your mother was an amazing actress that we were all so fortunate to have her on our screens. I’m sure she was an even more amazing woman, mother, sister, wife and friend to all those fortunate to have her in their lives."
Andy Cohen commented: "Love you so much Danny. And so proud of you. Your mom would LOVE your margaritas, and she was the supreme connoisseur!"
He also shared a personal tribute for his late friend to his own Instagram page. "Natasha was 'Perfectly Marvelous'… and left a profound impact on her friends, and on millions who she touched as an artist," he wrote. "We were a merry bunch bound completely together by Her."
