These Everyday Items Can Help Make Spring Cleaning & Tidying Up A Breeze

As the chill of winter recedes and the promise of spring beckons, many of us feel the urge to usher in the new season with a thorough cleaning of our homes. From the bedroom to the kitchen, every nook and cranny calls out for a fresh start. But fear not, for with the right tools and tricks, spring cleaning can be a breeze.

According to a recent survey, 9 out of 10 American adults undertake the annual ritual of spring cleaning, a testament to the universal desire for a clean and organized living space. To help make this daunting task more manageable, cleaning expert Caroline Solomon shared some invaluable tips with Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian and his wife, offering insights that will leave you exclaiming, “I never would have thought of that!”

Did you know that your dishwasher requires cleaning, too? Caroline advises a monthly vinegar cleanse to rid it of any accumulated gunk. Simply place a glass container filled with vinegar on the top rack and run the dishwasher as usual, allowing the acidic solution to dissolve stubborn residue clinging to the walls.

But the dishwasher isn’t the only unexpected item on the spring cleaning agenda. Your mattress, too, deserves some TLC. Baking soda provides to be a miracle worker in this regard, absorbing lingering odors and leaving your mattress smelling fresh. After letting it sit for a few hours, simply vacuum up the baking soda to reveal a revitalized sleeping surface.

Baseboards, notorious dust magnets, present another cleaning challenge. However, Caroline offers a simple solution – dryer sheets. Running a dryer sheet along the top of the baseboard not only captures dust with ease but also imparts a static charge that repels future buildup, making this chore a breeze. Even the oven window isn’t spared from the spring cleaning frenzy. A mixture of baking soda and lemon juice works wonders in cutting through grease and grime!
