Quinn felt guilty for not being able to afford the pear-shaped ring set Ariel had showed interest in. Instead, he saved up enough money for a $130 set of matching rings made of sterling silver and cubic zirconia.
"Are you sure you’ll be happy with these?" he asked her. "Are you sure this is okay?"
The rings weren't flashy or expensive-looking, but Ariel absolutely loved them just the same. All she really cared about was getting to marry her best friend.

But while making their purchase, a saleswoman walked over inside the jewelry store. She looked at Ariel's rings sitting on the counter and turned to her coworker with a look of disgust.
She said, "Can you believe that some men get these as engagement rings?! How pathetic."
Ariel watched as Quinn's heart dropped.
They didn't want to make a scene, so they bought the rings and left. Instead, Ariel took to Facebook.
