A Texas model was left horrified after a dental procedure caused severe bruising all over her face. Jessica Macko described herself as a human “Rorschach inkblot test.” On April 2, 2024, the San Antonio resident had an all-on-four dental implant surgery. The oral surgeon removed her real teeth, which were decayed, and then screwed 14 fake ones into her mouth. While she was warned that there may be pain, swelling, and some bruising, she was in for a surprise by just how bad her bruises ended up being.
“The day after I had the implants put in, my face swelled up then the bruising started the day after that,” the mother recalled in an interview. “I got quite scared. It just kept getting worse and worse every hour.”
Photos of Jessica showed the bruising all over her face, from her neck up to her eyes. “It was horrific because I’d never seen bruising like that on anyone’s face,” she said, referring to herself as looking “like a monster” four days after the procedure. She also shared that she had a lot of pain accompanying the bruises.

“It hurt so much,” she said. “I guess it just causes a lot of trauma… I did not understand the brutality of it.”
Despite the bruises and pain, she doesn't regret getting the dental procedure. “Thankfully I’m healthy now," Jessica said, referring to an eating disorder she faced in her younger years that led to her teeth decaying. "But part of getting the new teeth was my healing process."
