Woman Complains To Neighbors About Noisy Sex So They Put Candy Bar Apology Note Under Door

Jenna Levine was a student at Syracuse University. One night, she couldn't get to sleep because her neighbors were being too loud with their "romantic activities."

Knowing it was a sensitive and awkward thing to complain about, Jenna wanted to ask her neighbors to keep it down, but in a mature and polite way.

In a handwritten note she posted to Twitter, Jenna asked her neighbors in Room 338 to be a bit more quiet, so as not to remind her "of how alone I am."

But Jenna was surprised when she noticed something being slipped back through her door in response…

Jenna Levine, a student at Syracuse University, found herself awake, alone, and annoyed on a school night.

The 19-year-old desperately wanted to get some sleep, but her neighbors across the hall in Room 338 were making it impossible.

Jenna's neighbor and his lady friend were having a romantic evening.

They were being too… erm… "loud," if you know what I mean.

Privacy and discreteness tend to go out the window when you live in a college dorm.

Still, Jenna wanted to ask her neighbors to tone down their sexual escapades — but she didn't want to be rude about it.

So, she decided to write them a short, honest, and endearing note.

Hello neighbor,

Please have sex a little more quietly please.

Some of us are trying to nap and not be reminded of how alone I am… feel free to make all the love you want.

Just please, make it nasty at a lower volume.

Thank you!

Jenna slipped the note under her noisy neighbors' door and went about her evening.

But shortly after, Jenna was surprised when something was slipped back through her front door.

She was probably expecting a rude retort…

Something along the lines of "Mind your own business" or "Buy some earplugs."

But instead, Jenna noticed a large chocolate bar wrapped in gold, sitting on top of a postcard.

The neighbors scribbled a note on the wrapper, with an arrow pointing to the postcard underneath.

Jenna did not expect a response like this!

The note in the postcard read:

Dearest neighbors,

I'm so so incredibly sorry about that. I didn't realise how loud I was being, and ya know, sometimes having loud sex is low key, kinda hot, but obviously at your cost, which I apologise so sincerely for.

I'm so so sorry, hope this hasn't been occurring too often, and thanks so much for the incredible and hilarious card.

I will for sure try to keep it nasty at a significantly lower level. And hey, don't worry, you're not alone forever.

The right person will come along when the time comes. I was single for 18 years.

Haha. Once again, I apologise so sincerely and deeply.

Sorry, Room 338.

Readers hoped the neighbors became real-life friends, since the notes were both so unexpectedly friendly and funny.

If only everyone was this neighborly!
