According to CNN, Officer Wallace pulled over a white Jeep that had run a red light along US Highway 17 in the North Myrtle Beach area in the early hours of the morning one day, when she noticed that something seemed off with the female driver who was riding with a male in the passenger seat.

The news outlet reports that Officer Wallace found that the female driver appeared "distressed" and when the male passenger was looking in a different direction, she "silently mouthed, 'Help me!' repeatedly," to the officer.

At that point, Officer Wallace decided to separate the pair and removed the passenger from the vehicle and put him in the back seat of the patrol car while she talked to the distressed driver who had silently pleaded to her for help.
