"I'm wearing a mask because I'm allergic to dogs and there's 3 of them on my flight near me," the woman wrote over the video, in which she's staring directly into the camera. "I would rather wear this than see pets go in cargo. Please don't make assumptions when you see someone wearing a mask on a plane."

She explained her situation in more detail in the caption. "I was offered a seat change. I declined because I paid extra to be up front. I’m not upset over it. I’m posting to show ppl things happen & I didnt make a fuss over it," she wrote. "My choices were: be a sneezy coughing itchy watery eye mess, move to the back, or wear a mask. I chose the mask. All I ask is dont judge someone who is wearing one because you dont know their reason. ."

The Transportation Security Administration stopped requiring travelers wear masks in 2022. Wearing a face mask while traveling is now optional and up to each traveler's personal discretion. Per the US Federal Aviation Administration, traveling with pets is determined by each individual airline’s company policy.
