Just two days after President Joe Biden announced he will no longer be running for reelection in 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris is off and running with her campaign to win the Democratic nomination at August's Democratic National Convention. So far, it seems like the potential candidate has already gained a lot of support from famous faces, but it's going to be hard for her to top this: Beyoncé has given Kamala permission to use one of her songs in her campaign.

Kamala made her first official appearance at her campaign headquarters on July 22, 2024, and when she was announced, she walked out to the song "Freedom" from Beyoncé's album Lemonade.
The song played again on Tuesday, when Kamala appeared at her first campaign rally in Wisconsin.
And as it turns out, she was able to use the song because Beyoncé herself had given her the go-ahead.
According to what an inside source told CNN, Kamala's team reached out to Beyoncé's reps ahead of the appearance and were able to get permission to use it — a rarity, considering how careful the singer is about where her songs are used. They were only given the green light a few hours before Monday's event, but ultimately, they were able to make it happen.
Many have taken to social media to share what big fans they are of the move, with one person tweeting, "Oh she ate that, that’s our future president right there!"
Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles, is already among those who have given Kamala their endorsement.
Tina shared a post on Instagram that showed her and Kamala standing side by side.

"You asked for it and our President Biden did what was best for the country ! Putting personal Ego , power and fame aside . That is the definition of a great leader, . Thank you, President Biden for your service and your leadership . Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President," Tina wrote.
So far, Bey hasn't given her official endorsement — and Kamala will still need to be named the official Democratic Party nominee. But if and when she is, it wouldn't be surprising is Beyoncé is one of the first to show her support.
