Woman Surprised After Giving Birth To Baby With Two Faces, Four Arms, And Four Legs

A woman, along with her entire community, was surprised after she gave birth to a baby with two faces, two arms, and two legs. Rama Devi, 38, from Koreanpurwa, Kiratapur village, India, went into labor on the night of Sunday, July 21, 2024. She gave birth the next morning, and that's when doctors noticed that her child had double limbs and a double face.

According to medical professionals, the newborn's body was conjoined and one side was said to still be developing.

While the baby's dad, Ramphal, was ecstatic at the idea of his child being unique, not everyone else was. Medical staff reportedly left the baby outside of the hospital, and many people from the village made their way to see the unusual child.

Rama claimed that her baby vanished for two hours after the staff left the child outside, but a staff nurse at the PHC Rewan denied the baby being dumped outside and said it was rather taken around the ward. She also said the infant was unable to consume milk on its own.

It's unclear what the chance of survival for the infant is, but doctors believe that complication rates for such a condition are extremely high. Two out of every one million children globally are born with the rare condition known as diprosopus, which happens with conjoined twins and causes parts of the face to be duplicated.
