A mom had no idea that naming her child after a Game of Thrones character would cause issues when traveling abroad. Lucy, 39, was preparing for her first vacation with her daughter, Khaleesi, 6, when the passport office in England informed her that she would need permission from Warner Brothers before getting a passport for her daughter, reported BBC.
Lucy was looking forward to taking her daughter Khaleesi to Disneyland Paris, but she felt "devastated" when she found out that Khaleesi's passport application had been rejected.

Lucy was also "astonished" because she had no idea that a name could be trademarked, she told BBC. It turns out she was right.
After Lucy spoke up about the situation on social media and sought legal advice, the passport office said the whole situation was actually a misunderstanding.
The Warner Brothers trademark reportedly does not apply to names, and the initial information the passport office provided to Lucy would only apply if she was changing her name, according to the outlet.
Now, Khaleesi's passport application is being processed and the passport office has apologized to the mom for the error, reported The Sun.
Lucy chose her daughter's name simply because she liked it, and she had no idea that she would run into issues, especially because she was able to get a birth certificate for Khaleesi without any challenges.

"I just loved the name," Lucy told The Sun. Khaleesi means "queen" in the fictional language used in the A Song of Ice and Fire books, on which the HBO series is based. The title was given to Daenerys Targaryen, a Game of Thrones character portrayed by Emilia Clarke in the TV series.
Lucy calls her daughter "Cally for short," she told The Sun, but her daughter has embraced her regal title. "She always introduces herself as Khaleesi Holloway Queen of Dragons," the mom told the outlet.
