Mom Earns Guinness World Record Running Across a Track of Lego Bricks Barefoot

I had always thought people were grossly overexaggerating the pain of stepping on a Lego barefoot. That was, of course, until like most prebaby judgments, I became a parent and experienced it for myself. Those small rectangles might as well be 6-inch daggers plunging into your foot.

Despite this being a universal fact, New Zealand mom Gabrielle Wall took it upon herself to not just walk on Lego bricks but to also run across an entire track of them completely barefoot according to the New York Post. Although she completed the feat back in January, the mom went viral when Guinness World Records shared her accomplishment via Instagram.

Wall officially earned the title for the fastest 100-meter barefoot run on Lego bricks, clocking in at an eye-watering 24.75 seconds. She ran over 661 pounds of the plastic bricks, which were donated by Imagination Station, a company that offers classes centered on the popular toy. I’d assume those were the longest 24.75 seconds of her life.

“She just smashed the world record for running on Lego barefoot… which only proves one thing: she’s 100% a mum,” joked one follower. “No Olympic training, no secret coaching — just years of midnight bathroom trips dodging Lego landmines left by her kids. Forget steel caps, this woman’s feet are forged in the fires of motherhood.”

Wall is, in fact, a mom of two and explained that she took on the challenge after suffering a health scare in 2022.

“I am proud to have pushed myself to new limits,” she told Guinness World Records, calling the experience nothing short of “unforgettable.”

I’m sure there won’t be a long line of willing competitors ready to challenge this particular world record.
