What to Know
There are plenty of Donald Trump impersonators out there, but can anyone go off on a tangent and ramble quite like the leader of the free world? According to some people, no, because many think he called into C-SPAN to complain about the Supreme Court under the alias of John Barron. If it sounds ridiculous, remember who we’re talking about here.
In a clip from C-SPAN that was posted on TikTok, a caller explains what is wrong with the Supreme Court and he sounds just like Trump. There is no mistaking the very particular cadence of his words and even the actual words he uses. Sure, we’ve all seen it before with Saturday Night Live sketches and with comedians in general. But there is something about the voice and that fake name that, to many, screams Trump.
John Barron’s voice literally sounds just like Trump.

In the clip, the caller, John, explains why he thinks the Supreme Court is wrong for going against Trump’s tariff plans. He also notes how one member is a woman and a Democrat and he isn’t surprised she’s a Democrat. Again, very Trump-like in making judgments and comments in the middle of forming a thought about something out loud. And the voice behind this caller sounds like Trump the more you listen to it.
“He didn’t even TRY to disguise his voice,” someone commented. Another user agreed: “The SECOND he started talking.”
“Omg. This is beyond embarrassing,’ someone else wrote under the TikTok. But for others, it goes beyond the voice itself. It’s the name that gave it away for some people.
“‘John’ is Trump’s middle name and ‘Barron’ is his son’s name,” a user pointed out in a comment. “This is definitely Trump.”
Some are just plain tired of the games, though, with one person commenting, “This is the most embarrassing, craziest timeline we have ever lived.”
C-SPAN said the caller wasn’t Trump.
Per USA Today, John Barron is an alias that Trump once used. Since that’s public knowledge, technically, anyone can call in to a new outlet and give that name. But when you take that away, there’s still that voice.
According to C-SPAN, though, the caller couldn’t be Trump because of where it came from and when it came in. Per a post on X (formerly Twitter), the call was placed in Virginia and during a meeting Trump had. I mean, it’s a good cover, but we’re all still side-eyeing the footage from that call.
“The call came from a central Virginia phone number and came while the president was in a widely covered, in-person White-House meeting with the governors,” C-SPAN wrote on X. “Tune into C-SPAN for the actual president at the State of the Union Address on Tuesday night.”
