What to Know
New details about Hugh Hefner and the Playboy Mansion continue to emerge after his death. Multiple women who were in his life have opened up more about their experiences since then, and the latest one to do so is Holly Madison, who was one of Hugh’s main girlfriends for several years.
Holly, now 46, recently appeared on Let’s Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari and talked about the “really weird scene” she was part of at the Playboy Mansion.
Women were expected to partake in group sex even though “nobody liked it.”

Holly was with Hugh from 2001 to 2008. She was only 21 years old at the start of their relationship, while Hugh would’ve been 75. Sometimes, just the two of them spent time together—and that part was actually fine, Holly explained. “It would just be like us watching a movie or he’s doing a crossword puzzle and I’m reading,” she explained on the podcast. “It was very suburban.”
However, sometimes other women were also invited into the bedroom, which created a dynamic that was… very different from whey were doing when it was just the two of them.
Holly described it as “a really weird scene” that “nobody liked.” Each time, they just wanted to get it over with.
She described what this “really weird scene” entailed.
When other women joined them in the bedroom, they would sort of “take turns” with Hugh. But it was more than that, and it was not enjoyable for any of the women involved. She described it as “kind of like taking turns and then the girls who weren’t active with him were kind of like acting like they were active with the other girls, but not really.”
She added, “It would be kind of silhouetted because you’d have, like, these giant screens of porn going and it would be just girls like talking s— with each other. And it was a really weird scene and nobody liked it and everybody tried to just get it done as fast as possible.”
This didn’t last forever, though. While Holly and Hugh’s other main girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, were expected to go out on dates with Hugh and then have sex with him after, the expectations changed after the premiere of The Girls Next Door.
Holly explained that the show seemingly gave Hugh the “ego boost” he craved, so he didn’t need to have “compulsive sex nights to… feel wanted and relevant” anymore.
People who knew Hugh have also claimed that he installed cameras all over the Playboy Mansion.

Former Playmate Sondra Theodore previously spoke about how these cameras made her and other women uncomfortable. “The first time I looked up at the two screens he had for the TV in the bedroom and I realized it was me, I’m like ‘Whoa, what are you doing?'” she previously recalled. “And when we started bringing other people into the bedroom, some girls had the same reaction like ‘Whoa.'”
According to her, Hugh knew about this discomfort and offered to turn the cameras off. However, she claimed that even after these conversations, he would keep them on anyway.
