Trump Goes Off On An Unhinged Rant About His ‘Fat Slob’ Friend Again

When talking about the price of GLP-1 weight loss medications, President Donald Trump once again mentioned his nameless “fat friend.” This time, he took it a step further and called this “friend” a “fat slob.” During an event about supporting maternal healthcare, Trump started telling the same story that he’s told before.

It’s unclear who the story is about, as Trump has said this “fat friend” is “begging” him not to share his name publicly. (It’s not Vice President JD Vance though, according to Vance himself).

Trump talked about his friend’s experience with weight loss medication.

Like he’s explained before, this nameless friend discovered that GLP-1 weight loss medications were a lot cheaper in other countries compared to the United States. “He said, ‘This is crazy.’ It actually motivated me in a certain way,” Trump recalled. “Cause he was very smart. He did a study. He actually sent his people and traced this medicine and he found out it was — the box here is the same box as he had in New York. It was made in the same plant and it costs 10 times more here than it did in London.”

Admittedly, the cost wasn’t a problem for this “friend” of Trump’s because he’s “rich as hell.” But it still bothered him, and he allegedly questioned Trump about it.

The president said his friend is actually a “slob.”

Trump said this friend is “begging me not to release his name,” but that didn’t stop him from trying to describe him in detail. “He’s a very highly neurotic, very fat — sort of a fat slob, I would call him,” Trump said. “But he’s a brilliant man. We know many of those people. He’s a brilliant guy, actually.”

It’s still unclear who Trump is talking about, and each time Trump tells this story, it garners the same response from a lot of critics online: Trump has friends?

Previously, when Trump told this same story, Vance interrupted just to be clear that he is not the “fat friend” Trump likes to talk about. Just in case anyone was wondering.

People had a lot to say even though they’ve heard this story before.

The fact that Trump has told this same story so many times is actually what a lot of critics on social media chose to focus on. People accusing him of babbling and going off on a rant that was, at times, difficult to follow. Additionally, when Trump told the story, the people standing behind him all laughed, leading some people to question why healthcare professionals would be “laughing at fat shaming jokes.”

But one critic actually defended them — sort of. “To be fair to them, the ability to laugh at the same idiotic story after hearing it 100 times is impressive,” they wrote on X. “Cultish, but nevertheless.”

Others said Trump appeared to be talking about himself, which is probably why he couldn’t reveal the name of his “friend.” One Trump critic wrote, “A fat, neurotic slob, who Trump thinks is brilliant but who can’t understand basic concepts? He’s talking about himself in third-person again, isn’t he?”

And while some people were able to joke about Trump’s rant, others found it really troubling that a world leader would really describe someone as a “fat slob.”
