There are some things that just come with being the president of the United States. You get Secret Service for life, a swanky new home at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., and Air Force One. For Donald Trump, the latter is really the big ticket item he seems to have taken to above all else. So much so that now, he is being called out for allegedly flying influencers around.
In a post on X, someone alleged that Trump is using his power, and his access to 747 jets and military helicopters apparently, to fly MAGA influencers around the U.S. Whether or not that’s totally accurate, you have to admit that it does sound pretty on brand for Trump to do. So in that regard, it’s hard not to want to dig a little further into this one.
People think Trump really paid to fly influencers around.

It would be hard to fully believe that Trump is really allowing influencers to use government planes or helicopters, if it weren’t for one influencer literally posting about it. That’s sort of the issue, and it means that Trump could be giving favors and special treatment to influencers just because they also happen to be MAGA.
Lara Loomer, a right-wing activist and influencer, posted on X about riding a Chinook helicopter. She also shared a photo of herself inside of it. A Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a classic military helicopter you might have seen, either in real life or in movies. It has two rotors and it’s meant to carry lots of weight.
Loomer posted, “First time on a Chinook. First time at GITMO.”
Then, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office shared the same post and added, “The Trump administration is flying MAGA nut job influencers around. Your tax dollars hard at work!”
Someone replied to the post with, “Why is this allowed? Serious question. Oh, never mind…. Trump & his admin get away with anything & everything because no one has the guts to stand up to them.”
Others claimed that Loomer has press clearance for these sorts of trips. Which could be the case, but also doesn’t really explain getting to use government modes of transportation, period.
Someone under Loomer’s post commented, “How the hell these people let you of all people into military helicopters is beyond comprehension. Can’t own a gun but sure, give her a ride.”
He uses Air Force One quite a bit.

Trump already came under fire for using Air Force one as a way to take family trips across the world. OK, not really, but when he loaded the presidential plane with White House officials and then also Eric and Lara Trump, it was a bold move that no one really saw the point for. And then, when Eric posted on X about refueling and seemed to rub in the face of Americans that he rode in the plane for a trip that he had no personal political stake in, that was just the cherry on top.
Trump also nicknamed his private plane Trump Force One. Although he might take that for personal trips to places like his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, it still raises questions from some taxpayers about fuel costs and the frequency with which he travels by personal plane. But for MAGA enthusiasts, there are zero questions.
Trump has cashed in on being president in other ways too.
Using his power to treat influencers to trips on military planes might pale by comparison to the other ways Trump has used his presidency to benefit personally. According to CBC, Trump and his family members have earned an estimated $2 billion due to business dealings and investments made while Trump was in office. That’s a big deal on top of Trump’s power and income as a president.
