Sometimes it feels like the Trump administration can’t go a day without mentioning Former President Joe Biden. Although President Donald Trump has been in office for about a year and a half now, Biden somehow came up in conversation during Vice President JD Vance’s recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
Trump and Vance have already said some pretty strange things about Biden, but Vance’s recent comment may have topped all of them. Because of all the things he could have complained about, he chose to focus on the “suggestive” way in which the former president ate ice cream. The fact that he saw it this way left people (including Rogan) feeling pretty… confused.

But critics online think this is more of a him problem, given that no one else watched Biden eat ice cream and thought it felt too “suggestive.”
“The thing I couldn’t get over Biden is just bad staff work, man,” Vance said to Rogan on the podcast. “The way that he ate ice cream, I mean, it’s like, you know, we could bring some of this stuff up, but it’s like they would get him eating ice cream in the most ridiculous, suggestive way imaginable.”
Even Rogan did not seem to know what Vance was talking about. “I’ve never even paid attention to that,” he replied.
Vance responded as if what he had said about Biden was not at all peculiar. “Oh my God, it’s just such bad optics,” he said.

“What is he talking about?” someone wrote in response on X. Tons of other people were wondering the same thing. “Why are you sexualizing Joe Biden eating ice cream?” another critic questioned.
People also failed to see how Biden’s staffers were to blame for the way Vance perceived him. “Do not blame Biden’s staff for the s— that goes through your head while you watch an old guy eat ice cream,” one commenter added.
Because, yeah, people really struggled to understand why Vance found it “suggestive.”
“Who among (us) hasn’t seen a video of Joe Biden eating ice cream and immediately thought to themselves, d—, he looks sexy as hell,” someone wrote sarcastically. “Seriously, WTF is wrong with Vance?”
Whatever point Vance was trying to make by saying this, it did not appear to land. “The fact that his mind went there while watching President Biden eat ice cream says way more about him than it does anything else,” a commenter concluded.
Another recent comment he made about Biden also really rubbed people the wrong way.

He was talking about Biden falling when taking the stairs. It took him a while to get to the punchline, and once he did, people did not seem amused. “I’ve got the angel on my shoulder saying, ‘JD, don’t be partisan. We’re gonna make this nonpartisan,'” he said during a recent speech. “And then I’ve got the devil on my shoulder who wants to talk about every time that Joe Biden fell up or down the stairs, and the media didn’t care about that.”
He added, “But if I did it one time .. it would be a major, major story.”
This felt very Trumpian to critics. And while they still find it cringe-worthy when Trump says things like this, at least Biden and Trump are both 80+. Meanwhile, Vance is 41. Besides, with everything going on in the world, why does the way Biden walks up the stairs or eats ice cream even matter?
