Katie Couric Responds To Man Who Shared Sydney Sweeney And Greta Thunberg Meme

I’m not sure when Sydney Sweeney became the unofficial MAGA Barbie for far right-wing men to lust after, but according to one user on Threads, Christopher Ryan Czak, posted about it and seemed to insult less conservative individuals with a photo of their supposed “leftie” woman, activist Greta Thunberg, he got owned. Big time.

Because after Christopher posted the side by side photo and added his own commentary that no one asked for, Katie Couric hopped on to leave a comment. And then, people commented on the post after her to slam Christopher for getting insulted by someone who is pretty legendary as an on-air reporter and host. It probably wasn’t what he was expecting, and people are here for that.

The man compared photos of Sydney Sweeney and Greta Thunberg to make his point.

Christopher posted a side-by-side photo of Sydney and Greta. On Sydney’s side, there is a label of ‘Conservative Women.’ On the side with Greta’s photo, the label says, ‘Leftie Women.’ Christopher wrote in the post that it is a “funny meme,” but also right on the money with its sentiment.

“Of course, it’s true and accurate,” he wrote, along with a ‘100’ emoji and a ‘bullseye’ emoji, just in case his point wasn’t clear. “No one in their right mind would want to go out on a date with Greta Thunberg. However, who wouldn’t want to go out on a date with Sydney Sweeney?”

It sounds like Christpher didn’t make the meme himself, but he was willing to go to bat for its underlying meaning. Which is, to him, that whomever represents a political party as a female public figure should be universally attractive and have oodles of men from the same political party want to sleep with her. That’s what the meaning appears to be, anyway.

Katie Couric had something to say to the guy.

Former Today Show host Katie Couric commented on the Threads post and quickly put the guy in his place.

“I don’t even think your 15 followers care,” she wrote.

Other users replied to her comment to commend her for putting Christopher in his place. Or, at the very least, for trying to put him in his place. Chances are, he might have a snarky response for that too, likely involving Katie’s appearance. But he didn’t show up in the comments to defend himself.

Instead, some users agreed that they would be embarrassed to be in his shoes.

Someone joked, “If I got burned that badly by Katie Couric I think I would simply stop existing.”

After Christopher posted it on Threads, he kept the controversial image up, and even shared it to his Instagram account. On the Instagram post, he has just one comment from someone who wrote, “Loved seeing you get completely annihilated by Katie Couric on this same post that you have on Threads. It must be so embarrassing for you.”

People say they don’t get the “obsession” over Sydney Sweeney.

A user on Reddit shared a screenshot of Katie’s one-liner takedown of the Threads user. And in the comments, Sydney caught some strays as people wondered why there is a continued fascination and “obsession” with the actress, especially among the MAGA crowd.

One person suggested, “It’s because she is the only young woman who is globally famous, meets their Fox News standard of beauty, doesn’t talk much, and is MAGA or MAGA adjacent.”

Another commented, “Because she’s dumb enough to be MAGA and they claim to hate celebrities, but if one agrees with them, they worship them. That’s why all the washed up ones turn to the ‘MAGA grift.’ What’s funny is, if Sydney was an outspoken liberal, they would be calling her so many sexist names.”

For now, though, it seems like anyone who agrees with MAGA agrees that Sydney is their “it” girl.
