After 12 Hours Of Nonstop Exercise, Ironman Crosses Finish Line Holding Sign For His Girlfriend

It's sure to cross the mind of any wife over the course of her marriage: she will certainly wonder, at some point, when her husband decided to propose to her.

Proposing is no easy feat. It takes a lot of planning and thought before the big moment, which is sure to be challenging in every way.

But one man upped the challenge not only by proposing to his girlfriend, but doing so after finishing a triathlon!

Sam Davis, who is from Wales, trained for 30 weeks to compete in an Ironman race, swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and running a full 26.2-mile marathon to reach the finish line.

But crossing the finish line wasn't enough for him. He carried a sign reading "Marry Me George" to his girlfriend, Georgie Anderson, who was waiting just on the other side. She said yes!

Sam Davis and Georgie Anderson have been together since the age of 17. Davis describes her as his rock, especially in the 30 weeks when he was training to compete in the Ironman race.

Sam decided to compete in the triathlon after his grandfather passed away from cancer, choosing to honor him in this way.

Around week 19 of his training, Davis got badly injured riding his bike. Georgie was away on a vacation, and he realized how much he needed her and relied on her in this moment. He claims that he had been "selfish" that whole year, dedicating all that time to his training. So he bought her a diamond ring!
