It's every mother's nightmare for something to happen to their child when they aren't there to make it better.
It's even worse when you've put your child in a situation that you thought was safe, only to find out that the person in charge didn't deserve your trust.
Things like this happen all too often, and it's impossible to predict when and where the danger exists.
Yes, there are worrisome things going on all the time, but you can't keep your child in a bubble.
There is risk involved in everyday life, that's just the way the world works.
But Cynthia Floyd, mother of a 6-year-old, is questioning school officials about a whole new level of irresponsibility after her son was overlooked on the school bus and left in a parking lot miles from school.
The boy, named Colyn, had fallen asleep in the back of the bus and never made it to school that morning. When he woke up, he was terrified to find that he was alone on the empty bus and was nowhere near his school.
The little boy started running to school, which required crossing streets and navigating dangerous roads.
The thought of her son scared and alone out there had Floyd in tears, even as he sat safely in her lap. No mother should have to feel that way.
