We all know what it's like when things just don't seem to be going our way — maybe you spilled your morning coffee down the front of your shirt, or maybe you got a flat tire when you were already running late. The universe loves to play these humbling tricks on everyone every once in a while.
And it seems like it was this poor skunk's turn to have a not-so-great day.
When Mike MacMillan spotted the skunk, there was a soda can jammed tightly on his head.
The little animal was running around in the middle of the road, blinded by the can.
He must have been so confused by what was going on. One second, he's sniffing a sweet smelling object, and the next, his whole world is in the dark.
And that's when MacMillan stepped in. In what he's referring to as the bravest thing he's ever done, MacMillan approached the skunk and began to pull the can off of his head.
He spoke comforting words to the animal as the can referred to budge, and the animal became increasingly agitated during the process.
Eventually, after a fair bit of shaking, the can popped off of the skunk's head. The skunk ran off down the street on his little legs, leaving MacMillan holding the can and full of pride for his act of heroism.
