Wrap An Ordinary Coffee Filter Around A Lollipop To Create An Adorable Ghost Pop

If you love Halloween as much as we do, you know that there is nothing more fun than putting together a few spooky-scary crafts!

Of course, here at LittleThings, we don't typical go for truly terrifying decor — we prefer cute and cozy seasonal decorations with just a hint of frightening Halloween flair.

If we had to pick a Halloween style icon, in fact, it would probably be this adorable pug who knows that the best part of this holiday is dressing up and decorating your house to match!

With that in mind, we're busy breaking out the gauzy cobwebs, and carving up pumpkins into perfect jack-o'-lanterns!

And, naturally, we can't forget the candy! That's why we're pulling out a classic Halloween craft that simply couldn't be easier: Coffee Filter Ghost Pops sure to thrill and chill all your trick-or-treaters and party guests this years.

To start this project, you'll just need a few very simple household items!

Start with:

Most people will have almost all of these items lying around the house, and you can buy a big variety pack of lollipops just about anywhere this time of year.

To begin making your ghost pop, cut a small hole right in the middle of one of your coffee filters.

The easiest way to get the hole right in the center is to fold your filter into quarters, and then just cut off the tip of the little paper cone that forms.

Next, push the stick of your lollipop straight through the hole until the coffee filter is sitting right underneath the round candy part of the pop.

If the hole you made doesn't fit over the paper wrapper, cut a few small nicks into the inner edges of the hole until it slides over.

This will be the bottom layer of your "ghost."

Next, slip a second coffee filter over the top of the lollipop.

Now, you'll have two layers of coffee filters — one on either side of the candy — which will become the ghost's head.

Scrunch both filters slightly underneath the "head."

With the filters slightly scrunched into place, you should be able to see the ghost shape start to emerge!

Wrap a rubber band around the lollipop and double as many times as needed around the stick.

This rubber band should hold both coffee filters in place, so make sure it's catching the bottom one, too!

Now, cut a length of twine or ribbon — we used decorative ribbon in orange and black for a more spooky feel!

Lay the lollipop on top of your string or ribbon, and tie into place.

Adding a bow is a good extra step because it helps cover up the rubber band underneath!

Next, use your marker to draw on a simple face!

Like a jack-o'-lantern, this can be as scary or as cute as you want.

We prefer cute (and our art skills are limited) so we stuck with a classic: a big "O" for a wailing ghosty mouth and big round eyes.

Next, repeat these steps for as many lollipops as you like and watch the kids in your neighborhood light up when they seem them!

Personally, we love the idea of making a whole pile of these and leaving them out in Mason jars for trick-or-treaters to collect!
