When under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it's important to remember that you can not only be a danger to yourself — should you make the wrong decisions — but also a danger to others.
That's why getting behind the wheel of a vehicle is a terrible idea when under the influence. We learn from a very early age how reaction time and judgment can be compromised under any amount of alcohol consumed.
So when one man entered Sadie's restaurant clearly intoxicated, a waitress couldn't help but keep an eye on him, as he had three young children, aged 2 to 7, in tow.
The man couldn't speak coherently and tripped up when trying to answer simple questions. He stumbled on his way to the restroom, bumping into tables and chairs.
But it wasn't until when he walked out of the restaurant that he became dangerous. He got behind the wheel of his car with his three children inside.
The waitress, having observed him inside during his meal, knew he was in no condition to drive. She promptly called the authorities, who intercepted him while still in the parking lot.
If he had managed to make it to the road, who knows what kind of harm he could have caused to those kids.
Please SHARE to let friends and family know that authorities are urging them to be careful on the road during the holiday season when the incidences of drinking and driving increase!
