This couple's Jurassic Park proposal is as unusual as it is romantic. Chelsea and Devin of Los Angeles rode Jurassic Park — The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood a record-breaking 62 times. On the 61st ride, Devin unveiled a dinosaur-sized surprise.
Chelsea and Devin, who live in Los Angeles, have a long connection to this ride. They have annual passes to Universal Studios Hollywood. Every year, they ride Jurassic Park —The Ride in honor of Chelsea's birthday.
Soon, though, they won't be able to do that anymore. The ride is closing on September 3 to make way for a Jurassic World ride. So to say farewell to their favorite attraction, the couple decided to take it for one last ride. Er, well, 62 last rides.
Their efforts broke the record for the most number of times that the attraction has been ridden in a single day, which previously stood at 60. It took them 13 hours, HuffPost reports.
But Chelsea had no idea that Devin had another goal in mind. He was planning to ask Chelsea to marry him.
Here's how this extremely romantic event went down.
Chelsea and Devin live in Los Angeles. Every year, they go to Universal Studios Hollywood for Chelsea's birthday.
Their favorite ride is Jurassic Park — The Ride. At this point, riding it is a tradition.
The park is closing the ride on September 3 to make way for a new ride, Jurassic World.
So to say farewell to their old favorite attraction, Chelsea and Devin decided to ride it one last time. But this wasn't any regular ride.
Nope, they decided to break the record for the most times the attraction has been ridden in one day. The record was 60.
So they rode it 61 times. But David had another secret goal: He wanted to ask Chelsea to marry him.
So on the 61st ride, he unzipped his Jurassic Park-themed raincoat to reveal a T-shirt.
"Chelsea Will You Marry Me?"
And when the couple got off the ride, Chelsea saw the T-shirt in the video of the ride.
She was shocked and overjoyed.
That's when David got down on one knee. Instead of a ring box, he pulled out a replica of the infamous Barbasol shaving cream can — the one that a character in the movie uses to steal dinosaur DNA.
Inside was an engagement ring. Not diamond, of course — but amber stone with a mosquito trapped inside.
Chelsea said yes!
To celebrate, they went on the ride one last time, bringing the record to 62.
How romantic. Congratulations, Chelsea and Devin!
